Father and Son Arrested after Starting a Fight over Pokémon Go Gym
A 71-year-old man and his 31-year-old son have been arrested in the city of Kirkwood, USA, after starting a fight with an unidentified man for “robbing” them of a gym in Pokémon Go .
As reported by the local news site, Saint Louis Post-Dispatch, the players would have started arguing about who was the “original owner” of the gym that was located in Kirkwood Park. At some point, the third has thrown a bottle at the couple, who have reacted violently, attacking the subject.
The police, realizing the situation, reacted quickly, arresting the trio and separating them to avoid further conflicts.
The police claim to have confirmed the cause of the event thanks to the recording of a passer-by, who asked that his identity be protected. Because of this, the police have prohibited the media from publishing the aggression record.
The pair of players, identified as Robert Matteuzzi (71 years old) and Angelo Matteuzzi (31 years old) have been arrested by the local police force, and they will have to answer to justice in the coming months.
Pokémon Go is an augmented reality game, in which players can use their phones to “explore” a world inspired by the Nintendo Pokémon series, battling creatures and taking control of training “gyms” that allow them to maintain control over an area of the map of your city or town.
