The pace is moving fast and the heat around the political arena can almost be felt by touch. More than ever before, many aspirants contend for the seat of the highest office in the land; the Presidency. Howbeit, the leading contenders in the race are Muhammadu Buhari – the incumbent president – and Atiku Abubakar – a former vice president. Apart from these two, there are other candidates who vie for the seat of the presidency. Amongst these other candidates, one of those who have gained popularity in recent times is Professor Kingsley Moghalu. Let’s delve into Kingsley Moghalu’s biography.

Kingsley Moghalu’s Biography
Professor Kingsley Moghalu was born in Lagos on the 7th day of May, 1963. His father, Isaac Moghalu (late) was a diplomat, while his mother, Vidah Moghalu was a teacher and a dietician. He hails from Nnewi – an Igbo speaking town in Anambra state.
As much as Professor Kingsley was born in Lagos, he spent his early years in places like Europe and North America. Not long after he was born, his father was posted to Switzerland. Hence, the family had to move down there. After about a year in Switzerland, Kingsley’s father was posted to the Nigerian embassy in Washington DC. Therefore, the family had to move once again to the United States.
In 1967 – when Kingsley was 4 years of age, the family moved back to Nigeria. Upon arrival, he attended a native primary school in the then Eastern region of Nigeria. From there, he attended the Federal Government College Enugu. Then, he attended the University of Nigeria, where he had a degree in law in the year 1986. He then proceeded to the Nigerian Law School, where he became a Barrister at Law. After this, Kingsley travelled outside the country for his various post graduate programmes.

In 1992, Moghalu earned a Master’s degree at The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tuffs University. There, he was the Joan Gillespie Fellow and a Research Assistant in the International Political Economy Program. Later on, Kingsley was awarded a PhD in International Relations at the London School of Economics and Political Science at the University of London. He further obtained the International Certificate in Risk Management from the Institute of Risk Management in London.
