Semi Ajayi, Super Eagles English Championship player, says he is super excited to be awarded English Championship player of the month of March. He adds that it is an honour he would not forget in a long time.
The player scored five goals in five games for Rotherham United in the month of March, and the team won two of the four games they played in the March.
After the presentation of the award on Friday, April 12, the Super Eagles midfielder expressed delight as regards the recognition. He also appreciated his teammates for their continuous support.
“It is a great honour, and it is something I am really pleased to receive. I have to say though that the award is a team effort. I wouldn’t be in the position to collect the award without my teammates”. “During the month of March, we performed brilliantly in a number of games, picking up some vital points. It was good all round team effort. I am also hugely grateful to the staff, who have been committed.
“It was quite a good month, and to be given the award ahead of some very stiff opposition is even more heartwarming. “The season is gradually coming to a close, but from a team perspective, we keep fighting to keep this club in the Championship. And from a personal perspective, it gives me confidence going into the remaining games this season.”
