2nd Edition of PlusSize Fashion Week Africa in Top Gear
The Plus Size Africa Fashion Week is back for the second edition. This time it promises to be bigger, better and more exciting. Following the success of the maiden edition of the fashion show dedicated to celebrating the plus size African woman, the planning towards the second edition is in full gear. Already there are a line up of designers from all over Africa and other continents ready to showcase their craft on the runway.
The activities this year has already begun with the search for Africa’s Next Plus-size Model (ANPM), where the participants will grace the stage at the PFWAFRICA and the winner will get international modelling exposure.
This year’s modelling competition will only be open to the models under the Golden Curvy modelling agency as it is the number 1 plus size modelling agency in Nigeria, and this guarantees that the models will be well trained by the best and of a high standard. We will also ensure that this year’s participants have parental consent to travel and model if they do win.
There would be exhibitions running for the two days where designers and retailers will display their wares for the hundreds of people that will attend from all over the world. Emerging and established designers will also be bringing their A—game to the PFWAFRICA runway to showcase their creativity and diversity.
On the Finale day, we will be launching and having the maiden edition of our Masterclass called “Glow up and Flawless”. This year’s master class will see plus-sized ladies being taught about mental well-being, body positivity and self-confidence. Panelist include Bunmi Aoderin- Talabi, Bukky Karibi-Whyte, Omilola Oshikoya, Glory Edozien, Gbemisola Adebay, Dumebi Agbakoba, Feyi Luther, Chisom Ogbummuo, Titi Akinkugbe, Bukola Alba,Aderonke Eno Adefalujo, Temi George Taylor, MoremiElekwachi, hosted by Yetty Ogunnubi and Moderated by Temi Aboderin-Alao. The finale day will close with The Fashion Gala Night which is set to be an exclusive event where awards will be given to those who have contributed immensely in plus size industry in Africa.
