Ace Nigerian Actor/Photographer Bolaji Alonge Weds Belgian Lover Sandra Vermuyten with Convoy of Tricycles
– Manny Ita
Bolaji Alonge is a Nigerian actor and photographer par excellence; a 21st century artist with panache. He tied the nupitals with his Belgian lover Sandra Vermuyten in Lagos in what could well be described as wedding of the decade.
Yes the event had all the hallmarks of artistic dexterity in virtually every aspect, with the spectacular sight of a convoy of tricycles popularly known in the local parlance as “keke marwa”;
a name derived from the governor who first introduced the transportation tricycles in Lagos, from where it spread to other parts of the country.
Family and friends of the couple were treated to the best of the elaborate Afro-Bohemian wedding which also witnessed the creme of the entertainment industry, business gurus, corporate folks and a whole lot more at the Bogobiri House in Ikoyi, Lagos Nigeria.
The venue of the wedding oozed with romantic paraphernalia and the couple was a beautiful sight to behold when they took to the dancing floor, shaking their stuff to the rhythmic beats of Sir Victor Uwaifo’s “Jolomi” and the melodious song of Tina Turner “Simply the Best”.
On hand to make the day the best it could be were Yeni Kuti, daughter of late afrobeat king, Fela, as well as brother of the bride, David Vermuyten who were the compere at the epoch event.
And indeed, it was simply the best of its kind.
We wish the couple a blissful union.
