Aminata Savadogo: The Burkinabe-Latvian Music Sensation

Aminata Savadogo known simply as Aminata, is a Latvian singer, songwriter, record producer, and model.
Born January 9, 1993 to a mother of Latvian and Russian descent, and a father from Burkina Faso. Savadogo started singing at the age of 13 with private tutor Nadezhda Buharova, graduated from the Bolderaja Music and Art School and secondary school with specialisation in flute. She spent her youth in Riga, Latvia.
At age 15, she took part in the Latvian television show Krodziņā pie Paula and then also competed in Muzikālā banka at age 17. She also took part in Koru kari 3, the Latvian version of Clash of the Choirs as a part of the choir Golden.
After rising to fame for representing her native Latvia in the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest, Savadogo released her debut album, Inner Voice, on the Universal Music label.
Before competing in the Eurovision Song Contest of 2015, she auditioned for the same event of the previous year and also competed in a Latvian talent contest called Muzikala Banka.
Her single “Love Injected” rose to number nineteen on the Austrian Top 40 music chart.
She and Arnis Mednis have both represented Latvia at the Eurovision Song Contest.
