Anthony Johnson received a grant of 250 acres of land in Northampton County
Anthony Johnson, a free Black who was probably one of the first twenty settlers, this day in 1651 received a grant of 250 acres of land in Northampton County, Va., for importing five persons. Anthony Johnson established a settlement on the banks of the Pungoteague River.
This transaction in July 24 1651 when Anthony got that huge land mass for that changed his financial status.
