Nigerian literary Queen, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie has been honored for the umpteenth time. This time around, she was awarded with an honorary degree at the American University in Washington DC.

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie received an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree at the College of Arts and Sciences.

The famous author, writer and rights fighter was honored as “one of the world’s most powerful voices in fiction”.

Over the years, Chimamanda has come to be one of the most inspiring writers from the African continent. Some of her books have been adapted for screen plays. The recent of such is ‘Americanah’, adapted by Nyong’o for the big screen.

Her book ‘Half of a yellow sun’ was another of her books that hit the big screen with a big bang.

Chimamanda, who, by all means is an accomplished writer, also fights for the causes and rights of women.

Kemi ‘Lala’ Akindoju’s New Short Film to Premiere at Paris Film Festival 

She has done it again, yes! Award-winning actor, Kemi Lala Akindoju, has released her short but packed new film, titled ‘Fine’. The movie premiered at the Nollywood Week during Paris Film Festival on Sunday, May 12, 2019.

‘Fine’ was produced by Kemi Lala Akindoju for ‘Make It Happen Production’. It was co-written and directed by ‘Odenike’, who is making her debut in directing. The short movie stars Kemi Lala Akindoju, Tiere Osundolire, Odenike, and Jennifer Alegieuno.

‘Fine’ is a short film that shows the successful side of women supporting women through depression, anxiety, and other symptoms of mental illness. It tells the story of a young successful woman who appears to have her life under control publicly. However, she was beaten and battered by depression deep within.

Controversial Nigerian Male Barbie, Bobrisky, Hates Being Called Bro

Popular and controversial Nigerian male barbie, Okuneye Idris Olarenwaju, popularly known as Bobrisky, is fuming with rage at those who call him ‘bro’. From henceforth, he has warned not to be referred to as such.

In a video posted on his Instagram page, the Nigerian cross-dresser blasts Nigerians that still refer to him as ‘bro’, a short form of Brother. He claimed he is now a beautiful girl based on his present look. Therefore, he should be addressed as a ‘baby girl’.

 According to the post;

“Hello guys, good evening to you. This video is for some idiots on my page. I’m going to post a picture and you tell me, you look good bro. Who is your bro? I am a beautiful girl. So if I post a picture, and you want to comment, you comment and say, you look beautiful baby girl, pretty woman. Don’t come to my post and tell me bro. Let us learn how to respect ourselves for this Instagram.”
