Burna Boy gets second Grammy Award Nomination

On Tuesday, November 24, the Recording Academy revealed the nominees and it was Burna Boy’s 2020 album, Twice as Tall, which got the nod in the coveted list. The singer also confirmed the nomination on his Twitter handle with the caption Grammyawards in hashtag.

The Twice as Tall album – the 5th in his discography, released in August was a follow up to his 2019 album African Giant which also got a Grammy nomination in the previous edition. The Twice as Tall album featured guest appearances from Sauti Sol, Naughty by Nature, Stormzy, Chris Martin and Youssou N’Dour.

It would be recalled that his African Giant album of 2019 lost to Angelique Kidjo’s Celia album in the World Best Music Album category.

The category which has been renamed to Best Global Music Album has other albums – Agora by Bebel Gilberto, Fu Chronicles by Antibalas, Love Letters by Anoushka Shankar and Amadjar by Tianariwen.

The award ceremony which would be hosted by South Africa comedian and TV Show host, Trevoh Noah is scheduled to hold on January 31, 2021.
