Nigerian DJ vibes selector and cultural shifter, Sodamola Oluseye Desmond, widely known as DJ Spinall is having an amazing time in the United Kingdom.

On Saturday, June 29, 2019, the Pepsi ambassador performed on the final day of the Glastonbury Festival in Pilton, Sommeret, England, UK.

In the process, he created history by becoming the first Nigerian DJ to perform at Glastonbury; the largest greenfield festival in the world. He performed on the Silver Hayes Stage before over 8,000 people.

The Nigerian born DJ also makes history as the first solo performance by Nigerian DJ in the history of the festival’s nearly 50-year track record.

On the day, he thrilled the fans along with Koffee, Stefflon Don, Janelle Monae, Little Simz, Octavian, Miley Cyrus, and Billie Eilish, headlined by The Cure – on the pyramid stage.

Just as the name implies, Spinall is a disc jockey that plays all kinds of songs, and the entertainer is not limited to any specific genre. His style of play has been regarded by entertainment gurus as ‘fearless’ as a result of his skills to bring all kinds of music in one playlist; these exempted him out from the lots and won him numerous awards.

Signed to Mavin Records in 2013, but left for Atlantic Records in the UK on September 11, 2018, alongside his Manager, Tolulope S, where he signed an international major deal with the label.

Glastonbury Festival is short for the Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts. It is a five-day event that holds in Pilton, Somerset, England.

While it is famous for contemporary music, the festival encompasses cabaret, theatre, dance, comedy, circus, and other arts. The festival which debuted in 1970 and started running annually since 1981 now attracts about 200,000 people.

This year’s edition was headlined by The Killers, British rapper, Stormzy, and rock bands, The Cure. Kylie Minogue and Janet Jackson also performed at the 2019 Festival.

The previous festival was headlined by American rapper and Billionaire, Jay Z.
