Several music stars from Nigeria have grown their wings beyond this border by collaborating with international stars. Already, some of them are already dominating foreign soil, with the likes of Wizkid, Davido, Psquare, Olamide and Dbanj, among others. These folks have increased their fan base rapidly beyond the shores of Nigeria.
The latest to join the rank is the Nigerian songstar, Niniola whose hit track “Maradona” was requested on air in the United Kingdom.

It wouldn’t have come as a surprise if it were a regular music lover who requested for the song. But to everyone’s surprise, it was the international Superstar, Drake who requested for it.
While on a radio show with Tiffany Clever on BBC 1xtra, the Canadian rapper requested for Niniola’s hit track “Maradona” to be played.
In no time the “Maradona” songwriter took to her Instagram to share the bliss that filled her mind. She wrote, “When your new Bestie @champagnepapi starts to watch your back while co-hosting the show Last night with @tiffanycalver @bbc1xtra.”
Recently, the Canadian rapper followed Niniola on her Instagram account, not knowing that the rapper still has a hamper gift for her. Who knows if the rapper is stylishly calling for collaboration?
Teniola wasn’t left out in the picture, has she expressed her joy on her account too.
Niniola was brought officially into the industry when she participated in the sixth season of Project Fame West Africa in 2013. Since then, she has gone to introduce herself at the doorstep of every Nigerian with the release of her debut single “ibadi”. Thereafter, her performance earned her nomination in the Most Promising Act to Watch Category at the 2015 Nigerian Entertainment Awards. Today, Niniola needs to be introduced no more.
Not long ago, American producer and rapper, Timbaland, acknowledge Niniola’s song on Instagram. He then proceeded to follow her on the photo sharing app.
This feat is a big deal not just to Niniola but to every other artist who feels their songs are meant only for this border.
