Multi-talented and veteran Nollywood actor, Olayinka Ganiu Quadri has over the years experienced dark times and colorful times in the entertainment industry using both times to promote the African culture through his acting and directing role.
The award-winning Yoruba actor and the chairman of the Odunfa Caucus in the film industry is a name that pops up in the mind on matters that concerns the movie industry and his skills and expertise has helped preserve the industry for budding stars as well as placed him among the elite actors in the Yoruba movie industry since his debut in 1977.
During a live chat with the veteran actor, Yinka Quadri who will also be celebrating his Diamond jubilee in September has chosen to share his colorful times in the industry.
“My days in Nollywood haven’t been really difficult after all. Fortunately for me, I grew up in a wealthy family and acting is what I really enjoy, it is what I love, I wasn’t forced into acting. That’s why I enjoy whatever I face. My experience has been so sweet in the last 42 years that I’ve been acting.”
“I plan is to open a school of performing arts named Yinka Quadri School of Arts and Theatre. I want to own a school of performing arts to train the upcoming and the so-called talented. They will be taught part of what is learned in the university and part of what we do out here as in practical. The program will be informed of the diploma program and applicants can come directly from secondary school after graduating to apply for entry into the school and after the program, they will be awarded their certificates. That is my plan,” he further said.
The legendary actor concluded that the school will cover the South-West region. Lagos, Oyo and Kwara States respectively as the first target.
