Lagos State is set to host a 5 day African Music Festival and Cultural Expo (AMFEST Expo) which will showcase events, Exhibitions, Networking & Beach Parties.

Tagged AMFEST EXPO 2018, the business festival is billed to start on July 2nd 2018 – July 6th 2018. The event will end on Day 5 with an International Humanitarian Awards & Gala Night.

AMFEST EXPO is all about networking the African Entertainment, Arts and Culture business ecosystems to the global market. It directly caters to the economic expansion of the African Music, Film, Fashion, Food & Creative Arts industries, globally.

The event which will take place at the Landmark Event Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos is annual event is a B2B networking platform for culture, arts and entertainment in Africa.

‘‘AMFEST EXPO is laden with the responsibility of expanding Africa’s creative economy into the global market through the exhibition and promotion of rich creative cultural talents and potentials across Africa’, says OluKayode Amedu Adebayo, the festival’s media director.

Amedu said further in a statement that the project will cater directly to the economic expansion of African music, fashion, food, culture and creative arts industries into the global marketplace.

‘‘We believe that the illustrious accomplishments of the resource people coming in to grace the AMFEST EXPO Platform will foster great impartation on the emerging African creative ecosystem. We are delighted at the prospects of the creative content, insight and knowledge of the International market that they will bring, as they have choosen to honour our invitation,” Amedu added.

The event is expected to feature stars like, Ayoko Mensah – BOZAR (Brussels – Belgium); Binetou Sylla – Syllart Records (France); Frederic Menard – Tribu Music Festival, France); Ni Bing – Martial Arts Music, Beijing – China; Christine Semba – World Music Expo, Berlin – Germany and Dj George Milz – Outhere Records, Germany.

The festival is the brainchild of Kayode Adebayo of Media Africa, GoldRock Inc, USA in partnership with Piranha Arts AG, Berlin- Germany, conveners of World Music Expo (WOMEX). The project caters directly to growing the economic capacity of African Music, Fashion, Food, Culture and Creative Arts industry Professionals, by encouraging them to explore newer and bigger markets.

“Our goal is to create business & networking opportunities for African Creativity Businesses and professionals by bringing them together with global industry players into a high powered networking and culture exchange platform for 5days,” Adebayo said.

The event will daily feature: an International Business Conference; tech Skills Training Session by Google; Happy Hour & Lounge and Showcase Events.

‘’We firmly believe that this annual event will help professionals in the industry understand the opportunities available within and outside the industry, locally and internationally. It will strengthen and help further discussions, then also facilitate necessary relationships that could position practitioners and talents on a global scale.’’
