An authentic Super heroine story “Queen Moremi The Musical” depicting the rich and colourful African heritage, music, dance and costumes has been successfully put together by BAP Productions and House of Oduduwa.
The musical will relive the legendary tale of a woman who sacrificed everything; her marriage, her son and even the risk of death in order to secure the future of the people of Ile-Ife.
Bolanle Austen-Peters Productions and House of Oduduwa are pleased to announce this riveting stage play from the producers of the ever green Saro the Musical, Wakaa the Musical and Fela and the Kalakuta Queens
‘Queen Moremi the Musical’ relives the legendary story of a woman who sacrificed everything; her marriage, her son and even the risk of death in order to secure the future of the people of Ile-Ife.
Daughter of one of Ife’s bravest hunter-warriors, Lukugba, and Princess Olounbe of Offa; Moremi was raised to question injustice and stand up for the oppressed no matter who they were or where they came from. When Love came calling, she answered but there is always a price to pay.
Billed to show at the The Terra Arena, Plot 1376 Tiamiyu Savage, Victoria Island Lagos, the msical features seasoned and upcoming such as Bimbo Manuel, Bambam of the Big Brother Nigeria, veteran Nollywood star Femi Branch, Deyemi Okanlawon, Ayo Ayoola and Kehinde Bankole.
His Imperial Majesty, the Ooni of Ife and Chairman of the House of Oduduwa said this seasonal performance Moremi The Musical is aimed at showcasing the strength of women in our society and how it is dates back to thousands of years ago.
Her Excellency Mrs Olufunso Amosun who the performance is being dedicated to, describes Queen Moremi The Musical as a project that will keep our identity, values, history and culture alive especially among the youths , our upcoming next generation.
Described by CNN as the woman powering Nigeria’s theatre; Director and Producer, Bolanle Austen-Peters promises to thrill her audience with live music, royalty and incredible performances.
The Executive Producer of Queen Moremi The Musical and Global Ambassador for Moremi Ajasoro, Princess Ronke Ademiluyi states that it is our mission to to proudly showcase our history and vibrant rich culture to the entire world.
The musical will be performed from December 21st to January 1, 2019.
Queen Moremi Ajasoro is an epitome of courage and sacrifice for the greater good.
