National Body Brands 2Baba as Honorary Fellow

A Nigerian based professional body – National Institute of Marketing on Nigeria (NIMN) – has awarded music icon, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2baba, as an Honorary ‘Fellow of the Body’.

The icon who celebrated 20years on stage recently received the recognition alongside his wife, Annie, among five other recipients on Thursday during the Dinner Night. This was held on the opening day of NIMN Annual Marketing Conference held in Port Harcourt, River State.

While the citation was being read in honor of 2Baba at the event, NIMN said 2Baba is “generally considered Nigeria’s greatest pop act of all time. His distinctive blend of R&B, reggae, and traditional Africa musical influences creates a vibe that is contemporary and universal while maintaining a clear African identity”.

Tony Agenmonmen, the President of NIMN, stressed that the body’s love for 2Baba is further influenced by the sensational music star’s ability to manage stardom and remain humble and selfless in character, even though he has faced crises along the line.

Delighted 2baba while responding to the recognition said, “I am short of words to express how humbled, honored I am with this recognition from this respected body of professional marketers. All I can say is thank you, and also promise not to disappoint you”.

The legendary artist has previously received an honorary award in ‘Masters of Arts in Music’ from Igbinedion University. With the recent honorary award as a graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University (Bachelor of Art) received in 2019.
