Popular Zimbabwe TV series “Tunga” goes 3D

Willard “Slimaz” Magombedze, the producer of popular drama TV series “Tunga” has announced that the movie aired on ZBC-TV every Saturday, has taken a new route in terms of improving cinematography and costumes to make the show internationally marketable. 

Magombedze, who is among Zimbabwe’s top producers said that the drama series which for the first time be done in Zimbabwe will now be in 3D form. He said that the series will be taking a new shape due to the developments made to its cinematography and stated that the Gwaku warriors on the movie are now clad in new costumes.

The producer further said that he intends to create a high-quality series which its viewers will instantly fall in love with because he now has a new and compelling way of telling the story and filming.

He stressed that his team’s aim is not just on entertaining the local audience, but also on producing a series that can also be enjoyed beyond the realms of its borders.

Magombedze disclosed that he would be adding 3D elements and special effects, and plugins something which has never been done on a Zimbabwean television series.

The TV producer appreciated the show’s fans and admonished Tunga’s audience across Zimbabwe to stay tuned in for the upcoming episodes to see the effects of the recent developments.

Tunga made its way on Zimbabwe screens last year but recently, the epic movie is enjoying a fairly good following.

However, speaking on the move last year, he said “I am happy that Tunga is the first movie to be screened on State television from Slimaz Production,” he said.
