Rihanna Appointed Ambassador for her Country Barbados
Female pop sensation Robyn Fenty, popularly known as Rihanna has been appointed as ‘Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary’ in her home country, Barbados. The singer was conferred with the role by Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley.
The role which involves promoting education, tourism and investment, appears to be in line with Rhianna’s love for her country as is evident in her philanthropic and patriotic activities.
The Barbados born singer has enjoyed successes as a fashion designer, an actress and as an artiste, selling over 250 million records globally. She also launched her make up collection last year.
Now referred to as Ambassador Fenty by the Barbados government, Rihanna in a statement while accepting the role said she couldn’t be more proud to take on such a prestigious role in her home country”.
Last year, a street she used to live on, was renamed ‘Rihanna Drive’ in her honour.
