Serena Williams has responded to her “Wakanda-inspired” catsuit being banned at the French Open by stylin’ and profilin’ in her own custom-made tennis tutu while taking home her first victory of the year at the 2018 US Open.
The tulle-tennis dress was designed by Virgil Abloh of Off-White, who took to Instagram to share an image of the star in action, saying he’s willing to design dresses for the world’s greatest athlete for life.
Serena responded, thanking the Louis Vuitton artistic director of menswear for the look.
People describes the look as a, “chic one shoulder dress, a pleated tulle skirt, fishnet stockings and custom sparkly Off-White sneakers that featured her name on the outer sole.”
The 36-year-old also “dominated” her opponent, Magda Linette, advancing to the second round of the tournament.
