South Africa, Mozambique reggae musicians collaborate on a new song titled Let it Be

South African reggae band Zionruts Family alongside Mozambican musician Ras Soto has both collaborated to release a new song titled ‘Let It Be’. According to the reggae artistes, the song will be made available officially in August and its video will be available after

The announcement was made shortly the release of a South African rendition of Inner Circle’s ‘Bad Boys’ by Zionruts Family featuring local rapper ByLwansta. The song was used to accompany all promo material associated with UK cop TV series Bulletproof.

“It’s a type of song that addresses numerous situations encountered in Africa, such as murders, crime, violence, and starvation,” Zionruts Family said. “The main call of the song is to unite and bring back the lost love to wash away the bloodshed in most African countries.”

“The rights of the song are owned by the two collaborating artistes and the producer. We are working on the video and it will be shot in South Africa and Mozambique, respectively.”

Speaking on future projects, Zionruts Family will be working on a collaboration with Japanese artist CJ JOE on a song titled ‘Work On It’ song.

‘Work On It’ is a motivational song that elevates and gives confidence to oneself irrespective of any situation, be it positive or negative,” the band said.

The South African reggae act is also working with a New York band called Todo Mundo on the ‘My Only Way’ song.

“It is a love song about how love strengthens and unites people. We met with Todo Mundo at the Smoking Dragon Music Festival in the Drakensberg. We are collaborating and producing a remix of the song, bringing it more to the reggae side of life and owning some rights to it as well.”

The artistes have announced that both songs will be released in October when the group will release its third album.

“We are looking forward into releasing our third album that is being currently worked on alongside our Belgian producer with a couple of singles from the Zionruts Family. The 10-track album will feature songs that relate to numerous situations such as motivation, love, upliftment. The upcoming album will be an elevation of our other two albums Life Cycle and Kip On Surviving,” Zionruts Family said.
