Vanessa Mdee signs her debut international ambassadorial deal
Vanessa Mdee has agreed to become the new face of one of fashion’s fastest-growing apparel brands, Fashion Nova, based in the United States.
Mdee who recently celebrated her birthday revealed that she is now a ‘Nova Babe via her official social media accounts. The post reads in her dialect “Cake Day in this @fashionnova suit ni furaha kwangu kuendelea kupata madili hapa nyumbani na sasa za kimataifa pia #FashionNovaGirl #OriginalCashMadame #NovaBabe.”
This deal could be interpreted as Fashion Nova’s attempt to start its operation in Africa fashion Market as it has surged in popularity here in recent years.
Mdee new deal will allow her to join the list of other celebrities who have worked with the brand in time past such as Blac Chyna, Kylie Jenner, Cardi B, and Amber Rose. Cardi B’s ‘Season 2’ collection reportedly garnered 1 million dollars in sales within the first 24hours of its unveiling.
High-ranking Nova babes such as Mdee and Jenner are paid in cash for their endorsements deal. However, most influencers get paid in clothes, followers and discount codes as the brand re-posts photos of the Nova Babes.
Howbeit, this deal isn’t Mdee’s first fashion collaboration. In 2018, she announced the launching of Boro Star by Vanessa Mdee. The musician designed the shoes for African girls dreaming out loud.
She went further to release a statement via her social media account in her mother’s dialect to confirm the launching. Mdee wrote “Today, we launched #BoraStarByVanessaMdee. I designed this for all the Afrikan girls dreaming out loud. Anything is possible. Available in all Bora stores. Ilikuwa ndoto yangu kutengeneza bidhaa itakayonufaisha na kuboresha maisha ya msichana wa kiTanzania/wa KiAfrika leo nimetimiza ndoto yangu, nasema Asante Mungu. Viatu vya #BoraStarByVanessaMdee ni kiatu cha shule kinapatikana katika maduka YOTE ya Bora.”
Which translates “Today we launched #BoraStarByVanessaMdee This is the best way to get the best out of the world. Anything is possible. Available in all Bora stores. It was my dream to make a product that would benefit and improve the life of a Tanzanian / African girl today I have fulfilled my dream, I say Thank God. #BoraStarByVanessaMdee shoes are a school shoe available in ALL Good stores.”
