Alliance Francaise Mike Adenuga Centre, Inspiring and Empowering Lives with French Culture
Dr Mike Adenuga Jnr is a man of many entrepreneurial strides and achievements. He has been touching lives in several ways, one of which is through the Alliance Française Mike Adenuga Center, in Ikoyi, Lagos, Nigeria, surpassing other such centers in Africa with its remarkable and life fulfilling initiative.
Like all Alliance Française centers, Alliance Française Lagos is a non-profit organization whose statutes and activities in the training of Nigerians in French language and culture have been approved by the Alliance Française Foundation.
Established and led by a Nigerian board after 1959, and functioning also as the headquarters of the General Delegation of the French Alliance in Nigeria, the Alliance Francaise Mike Adenuga Centre provides a variety of programmes, and annually the center registers about 3,000 students.
In promoting the French language and culture, The Alliance Francaise Mike Adenuga Centre works closely with both the Alliance Française Foundation in Paris and the Nigerian government.
The Alliance Française Lagos has three key areas of focus in its objective, and has since inception, been achieving that. These are;
– Teaching French.
– Promoting French, Francophone cultures as well as cultural diversity.
– Offering visibility to up-and-coming Nigerian artistes.
Under the terms of a ten-yearly renewable agreement with the Lagos State Ministry of Education, the center also runs a continuing education programme for French teachers of the state.
The Alliance Francais organization retains ten other locations spread across the country – at Enugu, Ibadan, Ilorin, Jos, Kano, Kaduna, Lagos, Maiduguri, Owerri and Port Harcourt, serving nearly 7,000 students, with the Lagos Institute being one of the largest in Africa.
