American star, Birdman, to lead the production of Hollywood film based on Nigerian immigrants

Popular American artiste, Birdman, to produce a Nollywood movie titled “Tasmanian Devil”. The movie is a coming-of-age film based on a Nigerian immigrant.

According to reports gathered, the Nollywood movies will be the debut feature from Nigerian-American filmmaker, Solomon Onita Jr.

The movie’s full cast and crew are yet to be released as at the time of this report. However, Abraham Attah from the ‘Beast of No Nations has been identified as the lead role. Also, Benny Boom of Groundwurk Studios will also partner Birdman as executive producer on the project.

Commenting on the project, Benny Boom said, “I have been creating visuals for Cash Money artists for over a decade. And I am thrilled about this next phase of our collaboration.”

Since the beginning of my directing career, “Bryan ‘ Birdman’ Williams has been supporting me through thick and thin times, and this joint venture is a natural business and creative transition – the first of many. ”

The Plot

‘ Tazmanian Devil ’ is a story of a young boy named Dayo; a 19 – year – old immigrant ( Attah) who, after relocating to the US, struggles to bond with his estranged father, who had left his family to become a missionary.

When he joins a college fraternity, he is challenged by his father, leaving him in search of his own moral ground.

Attah will be joined by Nater Guma Mbaho Mwime (Queen of Katwe, The Chi), who plays his deeply religious father and Adepero Oduye (Pariah, When They See Us), who plays his mother.

Reports further say that no official release date has been revealed. But the film is currently post-production.
