Broadcasting Organization of Nigeria applauds FIFA over new agreement

As a result of the newly-signed partnership agreement between world football governing body FIFA and Broadcasting Organization of Nigeria, a great opportunity has been offered for Nigerian football fans.
The organization’s acting Chairman, Godfrey Ohuabunwa, made this known. He added that the ever-passionate Nigerian football fans now have the opportunity of watching all FIFA World Cup competitions for free and directly to their homes this year.
The chairman noted that this development does not only offer the Nigerian football fans and the BON partner-stations. Also, it helps the private sector in the country in terms of the advertising opportunities’.
BON announced its partnership with FIFA on Friday on free World Cup viewing of all World Cup matches this year. Also, it stressed that the agreement offers the organization an opportunity of making more money for its partner-stations. Hence, building a better relationship with FIFA for the future and spending less on the acquisition of rights.
Football matches to be viewed for free includes the ongoing Under-20 World Cup in Poland; the ongoing Women’s World Cup in France; the Under-17 World Cup in Brazil in October; and the Beach Soccer World Cup in Paraguay in November.
Ohuabunwa further said that:
“We have broken the ice. Now we are dealing directly with FIFA, and we have created a synergy with them”.
“Over time before now, the rights have cost us more as individual stations. But it is now at a reasonable price. The cost now for a group makes it profitable and cheaper for us”.
“We believe and trust that this will help us to create more synergy with other bodies such as the organizers of the Spanish La Liga and the English Premier League for the future’’.
