Covid -19 case update surges in Kenya

  • PublishedDecember 1, 2020

A total of 28,124 cases and 456 deaths was recorded as well as a steady increase in the number of deaths for the sixth week signifying an upsurge in the numbers recorded in the previous month.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country in March, November remains the worst month as reports confirmed that the country registered a record high 1,470 infection in a day. The figures as at the middle month were put at 14,081 new Covid-19 cases and 253 deaths.

The government had planned to allow all schooling activities resume in January but, the rise in the infection rate may cause the government to rescind his decision.

Refusal to adhere to safety protocols and measures by the people have been cited as factors for the increase. Hence, the government is now making efforts to ensure strict compliance of the rules.
