Three UK Entrepreneurs Launch Uber Style Health App for Active and Healthier Lifestyle
Three savvy health entrepreneurs in the United Kingdom have launched a new app aimed at disrupting the health and fitness market, offering on-demand personalized experiences that link up potential users with professionals in one click, thereby fostering a more active and a healthier lifestyle.
The company under which the app was launched is called Your Fitness Journey Ltd (YFJ). The trio behind the company are; chief executive Russell Teale; CTO David Pickerting, who previously sold his tech company to Peak AI in Manchester; and COO Rhys Jones, a private business owner.
With its office at The Landing in Salford’s MediaCityUK, the FiTR app will start personal training and yoga sessions at home, work or local green space on a one-to-one or one-to-two basis.
Speaking on the milestone, chief executive Russel Teale said “I’ve worked in the gym sector for over 10 years and have seen how the approach to fitness has evolved.”
“There’s no avoiding the UK’s current obesity problem, but also now one in four of us are suffering from mental health problems due to a range of social and economic pressures.
Speaking further he disclosed that “After holding several focus groups we found that consumers wanted a flexible and viable option for maintaining a healthier wellbeing, whilst recognizing the increase in busier lifestyles, on-demand expectation and lack of free personal time.”
“It reinforced that FiTR will appeal to a wide market with customers from all walks of life, as it simply works around you and your fitness level.”
Working with the trio to bring the innovation FiTR to reality was local creative agencyMC2, who took all the brief.
