Since joining Liverpool FC from Roma, Egyptian striker Mohamed Salah has been in excellent form, banging in goals for the English side with reckless abandon. Just recently, the player was crowned African footballer of the Year for the second consecutive year.
Before now, he had won the top scorer trophy for the 2017/2018 season in England. All his feats and titles have made him one of the most loved and admired players in all of Egypt. And to show appreciation for making his country proud, the Egyptian Government has decided to honor the player with a museum built and named after him.
” The surprise I was preparing for Salah is the construction of a museum bearing his name at the Gezira Youth Center. The player achieves excellent performances with Liverpool (Premier League) and the national team of Egypt. We are all proud of his accomplishments. I hope that winning the title of this year’s best player in Africa at the CAF Awards 2018 will be a major asset to enable him to continue his success and deliver more performances with his club as well as with the national team at the next Africa Cup of Nations to be held in Egypt, “said the Egyptian Sports Minister.
This season, Salah has scored 17 goals for Liverpool, including 14 in the league. This greatly helped the Reds to lead the Premier League at this stage with 57 points. Pep Guardiola’s men are second with 50 units, but played one game less than the Kops.
As a reminder, since Mohamed Salah joined the Premier League with Liverpool in 2017, the native of Nagrig has become one of the most appreciated players in the world. In his first season with The Reds , he broke several records, including the fastest player in Liverpool history to reach the 40-goal mark in the Premier League
