Falz, Harrysong headline Felabration 2019 as it debuts in Uk

Organizers of the Felabration festival has taken the life and legacy celebration of the African music icon and legend, Fela Anikulapo Kuti to those in the United Kingdom. The organizers announced that the UK Felabration experience will feature an explosive line-up of Africa’s biggest stars including Falz, Harrysong, and Awilo Longomba and will be held at Indigo At The O2 on Friday, August 30.
The extensive line-up for Felabration UK which is headline by Africa’s stars is the first-ever Felabration Music Festival in London.
The festival also includes the likes of Afrobeats rising stars Sona, Damibliz, Eugy, Tomi Agape, BM, A.Star, Drumz with Atumpan, Mr 2Kay, Hotyce, Shiikane, and many more.
As part of the festival celebration, the organizers will honor music legends Lauryn Hill and Majek Fashek with an honouree award, for their contribution to African music.
Lead by Fela’s daughter, Shalewa Kuti, and supported by DLA World, the festival seeks to foster unity and greatness within Africa and the diaspora and will offer a show-stopping experience from psychedelic stage performances, on-screen visuals to cultural dances and décor recreating the ambiance of The Shrine.
With music being a crucial key of African culture, Felabration is among the longest-standing, most anticipated and groundbreaking music festivals in Nigeria, with a line-up of over 150 best African Artistes over a one-week extravaganza at the New Afrika Shrine in Lagos, Nigeria.
With its debut in the UK in view, Felebration is gearing to spread its immense tradition and influence into Europe and diaspora.
Fela’s music and influence have traveled beyond this border and it is fair to say, that all Afrobeats artistes are offsprings of or influenced by Fela Kuti in some way, and for one day, the UK will experience the best of Afrobeats and host some its biggest names in the genre as well as Afrosoul and Afropop, who will incorporate and exhibit Fela’s music, his charisma and razzmatazz on the big stage at Indigo At The O2 on Friday, August 30.
