Google has revealed the latest group of ‘Android Excellence’ apps and games, being those with the best Android experiences of Q3 2018, following the quarterly trend of publishing a collection of best apps and games.
These apps represent apps and games that apart from their performance on Google Play are said to provide the best Android experience, according to store’s editors. The list includes 14 new apps and 7 games that made the cut for the third quarter of 2018. To recall, last year in June, Google had introduced the new section in Google Play store called ‘Android Excellence’, to promote apps that boast of a great design, performance, and follow the best practices given by the search giant itself.
Android Excellence is divided into two collections for apps and games. According to Google, the factors taken into consideration are, “high quality, great user experience, and strong technical performance.” Among the listed apps, there is a personal finance program called Fortune City, turns bookkeeping into a fun city simulation game. Also present is The Mindfulness App that helps users with meditation practice. However, the key highlight in the list is the popular Pocket Casts app. The other apps that made it to the list include names like BTFIT, Letras.mus.br, LingoDeer, PicsArt, Memrise among others.
As per the Android Excellence games list, popular games like Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp and Shadow Fight 3 made it to the list. There are some lesser-known games like Flutter: Starlight that are a part of the list, evincing how Google prefers user experience and quality over popularity when it comes to its Android Excellence awards.
There are many other apps and games in the list, and some of them feature on Google Play’s Editor’s Choice list as well. Additionally, Google has also listed out some “highlighted apps and games.” The apps in the list include – Beelinguapp, Fortune City, and ShareTheMeal; the games include – Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, Cash Inc, and Shadowgun Legends.
