The government of Israel has sent out a notice for
Thousands of African migrants in Israel have been notified to leave the country or face imprisonment.
The migrants who will be given up to $3,500 (£2,600) for leaving within the next 3 months with the option of going to their home country or third countries, risk facing jail terms from April this year if they do not leave within the stipulated period.
The UN refugee agency has warned that the controversial plan violated international and Israeli laws.
The Israeli government says their return will be humane and “voluntary”.
The order however exempts children, women, parents of dependent minors and victims of slavery and human trafficking
