Kathryn Fasegha’s ‘2 Weeks in Lagos’ Set for Premiere on World Largest Film Festival

Kathryn Fasegha’s ‘2 Weeks in Lagos’ is set for its first premiere at the world’s largest film festival. The movie which was shot in Lagos, Nigeria is set to screen at the Cannes Film Festival on Friday, May 17, in Cannes, France.
Thereafter, it would be screened in Ghana, Nigeria, and South Africa. This will be followed by a grand Asian and European cinematic release tour. Then it will have its eventual North American release in 2019.
The movie features prominent Nigerian actors like Joke Silva, Jide Kosoko, Fathia Williams, Mawuli Gavor, Beverly Naya, Tina Mba, Toyin Abraham, Shaffy Bello and many more.
“2 Weeks in Lagos” is produced by Inya Lawal. Executive producers are Miebaka Ovbiebo and Ambrose Ovbiebo. The movie director is Kathryn Fasegha, while the director of photography is Ken Attoh.
The movie captures the excitement and vibrancy of the type of life in Lagos. It portrays Lagos as a unique city where anything is possible within 2 weeks.
“2 Weeks in Lagos” is a unique love story. It is a captivating, turbulent and thrilling journey into the Love affair of Ejikeme (Mawuli Gavor) and Lola (Beverly Naya).
Their lives collided when Ejikeme, an investment banker, returns home from the United States to invest in Nigerian businesses. It was love at first sight for them as they embarked on a journey of discovering this new love. Both lovers are two characters with strong ethical backgrounds, and who know exactly what they want.
The film Director, Kathryn Fasengha, known internationally for her award-winning movie, ‘Treacherous Heart’, said that ‘2 Weeks in Lagos’ storyline is the first of its kind in Nollywood.
Speaking on the movie, she expressed excitement at the opportunity to direct what she described as a “stereotype-changing love story which is also faith-based”.

Toyin Abraham, sharing her experience on the movie said, “This is my first time working on a faith-based project/Christian film and it has been an awesome experience. The characters involved have been amazing. And it has been fun all the way. The director is very calm and flows with us. I love the story because it’s nice and simple”.
Beverly Naya, who also loves the simplicity of the story said, “I have always been a Christian. But recently, I have been working on my spiritual life and it’s really serious now, more than ever. When I read through the script, I fell in love with it. I thought I could use my craft to bring people closer to God. And this would be a great opportunity to do so”.
The director of Photography, Ken Attoh, a Ghanaian said, “This is my first time of shooting a film in Lagos. It’s been wonderful because it is out of my comfort zone. I have had to sit with Kathryn to put life in her story. The pictures are fantastic, the costumes, the location, everything is clear. I love the experience”.
The likes of Mawuli Gavor, Joke Silva, and Beverly Naya will be at the movie premiere in France. The movie will be out in cinemas across Nigeria from October 2019.
