Lupita Nyong’o & Danai Gurira Glow at the Los Angeles BAFTA Tea Party
Stepping out for the BAFTA Tea Party in Los Angeles this past weekend, Black Panther’s Lupita Nyong’o and Danai Gurira attended together to represent the immense success of the season together, representing the immense success of the Marvel movie.
Nyong’o wore a striking dress by Jonathan Cohen for the event, and the style was actually named after her. On the brand’s official Instagram page, it was revealed, “@lupitanyongo was our first celebrity to wear one of our dresses (nearly 5 years ago!) so every time she wears a piece it is very special. Even more special because this dress was named after her! Thank you Lupita and @micaela for letting us be apart of this journey!
Meanwhile, Gurira stunned in Oscar de la Renta, which she wore with Yael Sonia’s Perpetual Motion Swinging Circle earrings. The show-stopping earrings, which feature Tahitian pearls and diamonds, retail for $10,350. The actress completed the look with a chic pair of Manolo Blahnik heels.
And according to Instagram user @SeeCelebStyle, Gurira’s dress is from Oscar de la Renta’s Ready-to-Wear Spring 2019 collection, which she paired with Manolo Blahnik heels, and Yael Sonia’s Perpetual Motion Swinging Circle earrings which retail for $10,350.
Considering the huge success of Black Panther, the world will hopefully be gifted with many more appearances by Nyong’o and Gurira over the coming award season.
