The 8th edition of Parklife Gourmet Food & Music Festival returns to Johannesburg Botanical Gardens in Emmarentia and will be held on 9th of August.

Speaking on the expectations of the audience, the organizers said, “Come hungry as well and enjoy the carefully curated food village which consists of the best the city has to offer in gourmet street food.”

“Leverage on the public holiday and come celebrate with great live music and delicious delicacies. Bring your family and friends to kick off your three-day weekend with a relaxed day out in the lush surroundings of the Emmarentia Botanical Gardens.”

Confirmed artistes to grace the event include aKING, P.H. FAT, Werner Bekker, Matthew Mole, Ross Learmonth, Lady Zamar, Desmond & The Tutus, Janie Bay and Charlie Finch. While Other artists will be announced in due course.

Breakout Management director Damon Forbes said that the festival always ensures that it exposes budding talent and provides festivalgoers with multi-genre entertainment experience. 

“Seeing newcomers like Charlie Finch, Janie Bay and Werner Bekker in front of new crowds, that’s important,” he commented. “Music sets the energy, the emotion. It’s all about good vibes.”

“I always love mixing the line-up, so to have Matthew Mole, P.H. FAT, Desmond & The Tutus and Lady Zamar on one line-up is just amazing.”

Forbes said festivalgoers would be treated to new culinary additions. “We have included some craft village elements to the food stalls for those who enjoy DIY, as well as a craft gin section with some of the best gins in town.”

“The tickets price for the event is awesome for such an amazing selection of bands. There is such a great mix of activations with a craft market, food stalls, and the gin garden. It would be crazy to not go watch us evolve,” he further said.
