World’s Tallest Politician; African American N.Y. City Councilman Robert Cornegy Jr.

The Guinness Book of Records is undoubtedly a great and interesting book on statistical facts and the latest to make entry therein is a black New York City Councilman from Brooklyn, certified to be the world’s tallest politician by the iconic facts encyclopedia, at a height of  6-foot-10 (208 centimeters).After going for the title two years ago, Robert Cornegy Jr. was finally acknowledged by Guinness World Records two years ago in 2017.

In the certification awards held at the City Hall on March 27, Councilman Robert Cornegy Jr. admitted that being tall came with it’s up and downsides and was particularly challenging when shopping.

Currently, the tallest man to hold this record, Robert Cornegy Jr. has since 2013 held the position of councilman after winning the seat. Councilman Robert Cornegy Jr played basketball for most of his youth; in high school, the university and professionally before he became a politician, winning the seat as a councilman in 2013.

Robert Cornegy Jr took over the crown of the tallest politician in the world from former British politician Sir Louis Gluckstein who died in 1979 and stood at 6-foot-7-1/2 inches (202 centimeters).

The World’s tallest politician is also engaged in humanitarian activities having founded the Cornegy Residence treatment center for chemically dependent men in Bedford-Stuyvesant.

He spends a great deal of time counselling on mental health and drug/ alcohol abuse.
