The award-winning Nollywood actress and movie producer, Nse Ikepe-Etim, has shared heart-melting, yet shocking secrets about her personal life. Nse shared reasons she would never be able to conceive, let alone give birth to a child during her lifetime.

She made the revelation known to all on Saturday, during an event tagged ‘Conversation with Nse’, at Lekki. According to the star actress; three years ago, she had her womb removed because she was diagnosed with Adenomyosis. This is a condition whereby the inner lining of the uterus breaks through the muscle wall of the uterus.

“I was told I couldn’t bear children and so, I had to have a hysterectomy (removal of the uterus). This was so I could have a life again and to stop going through what I was going through. I am literally telling men and women out there, it really doesn’t matter if you can’t bear children. What really matters is what you would do for the world and for the universe”, she said.

While at the event, she went further to speak about how she battled depression after the removal of the womb to save her life.

“When the doctor first told me that they would have to remove my womb for me to have a normal life again, tears of ocean dropped, and then my husband squeezed my hand. It just meant that there was someone who had my back, and this was a reality – my reality. This unfortunate ordeal made me fall into depression. I didn’t think there was any point to prove anymore. This is because my society taught me that I have to be a mother to be appreciated. And every time I went online, people would be asking, “You never born?” But I am thankful that didn’t break me”, she said.

Nse has been happily married to Clifford Sule since 2013.
