AFRIMA to host next conference in Cameroon

The annual All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) is set to hold the next edition of music and culture conference at Las Vegas VIP in Douala, Cameroon on 28th of June, 2019.
AFRIMAs has indicated that it will only involve the participants who have successfully completed the entry form in the due process ahead of the awards ceremony in Accra, Ghana, from 6th to 9th November.
Discussions will also touch on the awards’ build-up events, which include public voting, the adjudication process, the nominees’ announcement, the Turn-Up Africa music concert and conference and the main events such as the AFRIMA Music Village, Africa Music Business Summit and the awards night.
Speaking on the event the AFRIMA Central Africa director Ernest Ewane said, “AFRIMA is sharing the spirit of Pan-Africanism for greater partnerships in entertainment, music, and culture for sustainable development in line with the African Union (AU) cultural agenda for democracy, integration, peacebuilding, economic advancement, and youth social development.”
The annual event which is in partnership with the AU; the AFRIMAs are a piece of music and cultural initiative developed to reward, celebrate and showcase the rich musical heritage of Africa.
Those expected to grace the event include record label executives, creative experts, policymakers, media practitioners, publishing companies, music professionals, cultural industry practitioners, recording artists, artist managers, and government officials.
The event also seeks to induce conversations among Africans and between Africa and the rest of the world about the potential of Africa’s culture and artistic legacy to enable job creation and reduce poverty.
In a press statement released, the organizers said musicians can still submit applications to be nominated for this year’s awards. The application deadline is 2nd of August.
