An African music streaming service, Playfre has launched a new service known as SongRoute.

SongRoute is designed to further help African artists monetize their music online as this latest service comes in just shortly after the release of myPlayfre, which is designed to assist African artists in selling their music online without using a music aggregator.

The application also aims to assist African upcoming artist or well-known musician across the continent and to sell their music on music streaming platforms like Playfre, Google Play, iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, amongst others.

In addition, SongRoute will help artists achieve this without any cost to them.

Quoting the CEO of Playfre Africa, Chika Nwaogu

“Playfre is growing rapidly by the day and this pleases me. I want to use this to help struggling artists out there to get their music across the continent to listeners that matter the most. With SongRoute I think this will be possible as we intend not to only to get their songs across the globe but to also promote them on our platforms to give them maximum exposure”.

“With this, African artists will quickly be able to get their songs on Playfre and over 400 plus more music stores across the globe for free”.

SongRoute comes with a suite of promotional services such as Playlist Pitching, Global Music Distribution, YouTube Monetization, Marketing, Piracy Protection, iTunes Carousel Pitching and many more. These services will be available to all African artists who sign up to the platform.

The new service currently available in Nigeria and Kenya and will help African artists reach a wider audience that will expand across the globe, as well as combine with the Playfre platform to increase their fan-base within the African continent.
